Artwork Requirements

Design House Creatives (DHC)

Art Requirements for Dye Sublimation

Properly submitted artwork is necessary to avoid or reduce art prep fees.  Sublimation uses full color images, so this is fairly simple. If your artwork does require additional Graphic Design work such as, cleaning up, redrawing, adding to or deleting from the image, designing, etc., Design House Creatives (DHC) will contact you to give an estimate of additional art charges that will be added to your order.

Cropping an image does not count as an “additional” art charge.

At DHC, we are a full service Graphic Design shop with an hourly art rate of $45.00 USD. However, some artwork only requires minor “adjustments” and will be  billed a $10 - $15 USD “Flat” art rate.  Art must be created & saved at actual imprint size, or close, and preferably at 300 dpi but no less than 150 dpi resolution. Vector formats are accepted; but we strongly suggest you export the file as a flattened, 150-300 dpi raster image, (this would be a .tif, .jpg, .psd, .eps, .pdf, .png, .gif, or .bmp file) and send that. This helps ensure your image will print exactly as you expect.

If you, the customer, requires a tangible, full color proof/sample or if a specific color needs to be matched, the customer pays any shipping and item charges for approvals of samples/proofs. Three (3) proofs/revisions are included with most purchases.  Additional proofs/revisions are billed at $5 USD a piece.  If needing a specific color from a known item or hard copy, please send to us at:

Digital File Formats That We Accept:

Basically, there are two main digital, graphic file types:

1. BITMAP/RASTER IMAGES:  Original digital photographs and scans on a single layer comprised of continuous tones, gradients, shading and without added text or other graphic embellishments.

.TIFF/.TIF      .JPEG/.JPG      .PSD      *.EPS      *.PDF      .PNG      .GIF      .BMP

2. VECTOR ART:  Logos and electronically drawn line art, usually made up of individual elements and layers (e.g. shapes and text with specific fill colors) each of which can be edited individually. Editable layers are especially important when there is to be spot color reproduction from the graphic.

.AI      *.EPS      *.PDF      .CDR

*These file types can sometimes be save as either vector or raster but may not necessarily have the correct file saving parameters selected. Therefore, they will be checked by our art department.

In raster files (.tif, .jpg, .psd, .eps, .pdf, .png, .gif, .bmp), rasterize & flatten all text.

In vector files (.ai, .eps, .pdf, .cdr) convert text to paths, outlines or objects.

MS Word & MS Excel are Text Files Only (DO NOT SEND IMAGES WITH THESE.)

We do not accept .pub files.

Saving files:

Save your files in RGB mode if they have color.  CMYK, Grayscale, Duotone, Monotone and PMS are also accepted, but RGB will produce the richest black.

(Note: Exact color matching of specific colors is not guaranteed.)

Save Photoshop files in any version from Photoshop CC down to Photoshop 5.

Save Illustrator files in any version from Illustrator CC  down to Illustrator 8.

If your artwork is ready and you’ve determined the items you want,
